  1. I have a sava 900 and lost my cable to connect the front speaker units it has a special white connector. Do you have any sources where I can find one?

  3. Have a Sava900 bought it with Wega Sony TV, a while ago the tv is broke, We had a replacement that’s Toshiba – HD, so far the DVD/video
picture are not show up on the tv/no display.
We’re trying to return the tv. Is there a fix for this? or maybe go for the bravia HD instead.

  4. I have a Sava-d900 and for the past year the dvd player has been stuck. I removed the top speaker and opened up the top but cannot access the dvd’s to free them. Is there a guide out there to show how to get the dvd’s out or to fix the player itself? Thanks

  5. Hi,

I have a BRAND NEW SA-VA D900 for sale for $450. I have bought 2 SA-VA D900 systems but used one and left the other one untouched. The system is BRAND NEW and never been used. All everything are in plastic with original sealed cables around them. If anyone interested, please, send me an email at I am living in San Jose, CA. Only for pick-up or I can deliver if within 50 miles radius from San Jose, CA. No shipping since the system is BIG and HEAVY (pr if prefer shipping, then there is another $150, beside the $450 for the systems). Thanks.

  6. HI, I have a D900 that has been working fine for years until last night. I stepped out of the room for a few minutes and when I returned, there was no sound. All the functions seem to work. It plays DVD’s, switches between functions, even shows “stereo” sound when I browse my radio stations. All lights work and the display is good. There is absolutely no sound. I did a tear down and found 9 fuses (8 on the amp board & 1 on the power input). All fuses tested fine. I looked at every CAP and none are bulging. It’s as if there were no speakers attached at all. Also, I disconnected all of the external speakers and am testing with just the tower (left speaker). I did a clear of all functions and still no sound. I might have accidentally hit a button on the remote, but I think a reset would undo whatever I did. Any ideas? I’m ready to TOSS it.

      • You know? Thats exactly how its acting, but since that time, I’ve muted, unmuted, remuted, and unmuted again. I know what you’re saying because it acts EXACTLY like its muted. Thats whats so frustrating…Inside, this thing looks like it rolled off the assembly line. Its like I hit the mute button and it won’t unmute. I’m pretty sure that there’s something simple I’m missing (like a hidden mute function).

      • The user manual gives a few hints on trouble shooting no sound.
There no sound or only a very low-level sound is heard
        – Check that the speakers and components are connected securely.
        – Make sure that you have selected the correct component on the system.
        – Press MUTING on the remote if the “MUTING ON” is displayed.
        – The protective device on the system has been activated because of a short circuit. Turn off the system, eliminate the short-circuit problem and turn on the power again.
        – The audio connecting cord is damaged. Replace it with a new one
        – The system is in pause of in slow-motion play mode. Press play to return to normal play mode.
        – Fast forward or fast reverse is preformed. Press play to return to normal mode.

  7. Thanks…Yeah, I tried all that. I even thought that because I may have muted it with my customized DVR remote, that may have set a mute on a different code (if there is such a thing). Last week, I was ready to throw it away, but the more I look at it, the more I think there is some bad “code” that was thrown at it by my remote. It just doesn’t make sense. I’m usually pretty good at troubleshooting, but this one has me completely baffled. Almost 15 years with this thing and it still operates like the day I brought it home, but without sound. I wish I knew of a “Master Reset” that would restore everything to factory settings. I found the reset in the “Customize” settings, but I’m not convinced that its a factory settings reset. Thanks for sticking with me through this. I’m convinced that I’m GOING to figure this out.

  8. Hi,
Can someone please tell me where I can find parts for the d900? Specifically, I need a dvd board and a pick up. I have the part numbers, but Sony says they no longer stock them.
I can’t be th eonly one who still uses this system. And/or is there a receiver that is compatable with the rest of the system?

  9. Hi Gary,

I am still using my d900 for my home theater system and the DVD in there is also skip reading the music, however, I am now using it as a Subwoofer only, not on its DVD player. You can connect a Blu-ray to its RCA inputs (Left & Right) so you have the whole system again. It is not worth to fix its DVD.

  10. I’m looking for the center and 2 rear speakers for the SS-T900 dvd system. No need for the dvd player itself. We use the xbox 360 for movies or the laptop. I hooked up some other speakers for the center/rear, but i need those 3 speakers to make this sound system complete. I would like to make it sound at its best.

    wishful hopes,

  11. Hi Steve,

I have the center speaker & the 2 rear speakers of the Sony D900 system for sale. If you want them, please, send email to me We will work out the price and the shipping fee.

  12. I just got a system from someone and all of the parts are not there so looking to see where i can get like a remote and the other speakers.and even more stuff that i need

  13. Hi Karen,

I have the wireless remote for sale. It works perfectly except for the power button which does not work. If you can walk-up to the system and power-up manually, then the remote is working fine for all functions on the remote. I also have the center speaker + 2 rear speaker + their speaker wires for sale. Their conditions are perfect.

Please, send me an email at, then we can work-out on the price + shipping fee (usually the shipping fee is around $25 for shipping anywhere in the US).

  14. I have a sava d900, when I connect it to my tv I get picture and sound and all these crazy lines across the screen. I tryd the yellow video out cable and s video cable, both give me crazy lines on the screen. Anyone know what’s causing this.??

  15. I think your DVD player (from D900) is bad. Most of them are broken as they are getting older. They are not a quality built either. Please, buy a blu-ray (it is cheap now) for video and just use the D900 for sound only.

  16. I have a sava d900 and also having n issue with the main unit. Display works fine but there is no sound from it. However, there is sound from the other front speaker. Any help?

    • Look like the the main unit has either speaker problem or the speaker wire problem. Check the speaker and their wires. The circuit may be fine.

  17. I’ve been using my sava-d900 for about two weeks now and absolutely love it. Being it is a little dated I’ve only tried the RCA (red/white) cables to input sound. I have a Sony PS3 though and was wondering if I could use my speaker systems optical port to input sound though I’m still going hdmi to my tv. Basically does the system need the optical-in to be paired with video to operate correctly? Being the port is next to the dvd inputs.

  18. Hi,

I still have 2 used sets of SA-VA D900 and I am willing to sell but unless you live around California Bay Area (I live in San Jose), I will deliver or you can pick-up but I will not ship. It is too heavy for shipping, around 160 lbs and I have no original box.

  19. I have one of these SAVA-D900 units. I am the original owner and have enjoyed it for many years. (purchased it in October 2000)

I have the original documentation and Operating Instructions, etc., but I am not able to find any troubleshooting advice for what has finally happened. My most loved DVD is inside the unit, and I cannot get it to eject. It would not kill me to simply take a hammer to the unit to try and retrieve my disc, but I am not sure that would be the best solution.

Does anyone have a suggestion? I push the eject button, but it does not eject. It even starts to play. So frustrating. Thank you!

  20. The DVD player that built in the SAVA-D900 is…junk. It getting stuck, not playing, skip track…ect have been reported widely by many people. The best way to avoid the headache but still enjoying the sound from SAVA-D900 is to buy a Blu-ray player and hook-up with the RCA cable to the back of the speaker then you can play anything you want.

    • My D900 fan clicks on in the back when I plug in the power cord but will no longer power up. Any thoughts? Worked fine the other day. I know it’s getting power. Is there an easy fuse fix?

  21. Hi Jamie,

I am not sure what cause your speaker not powering-up. I have never seen any fuse or something that we can fix. It may be the fan stopped working so it overheated the system? These speakers are old and obsoleted so it may cost us much money to fix if someone know how to do it, not worth it. By the way, I found the same quality speakers that sell for approximately around $200-300 but the sound quality are the same or better than D900. They are the Logietch Z-2300 (2.1 channel) or Logitech Z-5500 (5 channel) or Creative Gigaworks S700 (5 channel) or S750 (7 channel). They are all active speakers, used but sound really good. They are sold on Ebay or Craiglist. Good Luck!
